Comben had the chance to put the Kangaroos in front on the quarter-time siren, but his set shot from the pocket was off line and as a result both teams head into the first change deadlocked.

It was a fantastic start from North, who booted four of the first five goals to open up a game-high 18-point lead.

But the Lions responded with four of the last five majors to get right back into the contest.

The Roos lead the disposals 98-84, contested possessions 40-39, marks 21-16 and free kicks 6-4.

After being subbed out last week for not registering a clearance, Cunnington is still yet to record one this week.
